Thumos was founded by Broc Trammell and Connor Secor, former U.S. Naval Special Warfare Boat Operators who saw firsthand the cumulative toll that repeated concussive forces, blast exposure, and chronic stress take on the brain. During their service, they and their teammates experienced TBIs and subtle but persistent cognitive changes, an experience later echoed in a widely reported New York Times Article (November 2024) that brought national attention to the long-term neurological risks faced by elite special operations forces. For both Broc and Connor, the mission became personal as they also watched aging family members struggle with cognitive decline, reinforcing a stark truth: brain health isn’t a crisis that begins with old age or trauma, it’s something shaped across a lifetime. Together, Broc and Connor set out to apply the same rigor, discipline, and systems-thinking that defined their military careers to a new problem: making science-backed, holistic brain health accessible, practical, and proactive for everyday life, not just for recovery.
